Each Knickerbocker Stockings Kit will make a pair of stockings similar to the blue and white checked model on the right and contains:

3 oz Elemental Affects Jumper Weight (Fingering) Shetland in your Main Color, approx. 345 yds., natural color 100% North American Shetland Wool and

2 oz Elemental Affects Jumper Weight (Fingering) Shetland in your Contrast Color, approx. 230 yds., natural color 100% North American Shetland Wool

If you already own Designs for Knitting Kilt Hose and Knickerbocker Stockings , you do not need to purchase it again. If you do not already have a copy of this classic, you may purchase it with the kit at a savings. The Shepherd's Plaid pattern is found on pp. 58B through 69.

Suggested Needle Size, Gauge, Notions and Other Materials: US1 to 3/2.5mm-3.25 -- probably a US 2 would be "just right" for most of you - either dpns or two circular needles, your choice; tapestry needle

Skill Level: Enthusiastically Intermediate - not because the knitting is so difficult (it isn't) but because Lady Gainsford wrote in an older style which requires more of the reader/knitter
