Each packet of Habu Textiles 1/8.5 Kakishibu Cotton Viscose contains 264yd/1oz, 100% cotton. We suggest 3-3.25mm/US 2 or 3 for standard stockinette fabric. If lace is your desire, experiment in pattern to discover the best size needle (try a size US 7 first).

*****

It's difficult to decide which I love more, the subtle, warm colors of this yarn or the very yarn itself. Both are extraordinary. It's a good thing they are also inseparable, so that I don't have to decide.

The yarn is a cotton paper that is strong enough to be used as warp by weavers and supple enough to knit up as your new favorite sweater. It will soften even more over time as it is washed, too. It is flat and 1/16 of an inch wide and will yield up a drape-y, invitingly sensual fabric in plain stockinette. In lace, its structure will add an element of interest to the interplay of stitches, something intriguing and delicious.

You may also want to try stranding Kakishibu Cotton with a soft yarn, for instance, Habu Textile's Silk Mohair Kusa. We have discovered that pairing the Kusa with a variety of Habu's lace weight smooth yarns results in a fabric with both a wonderful drape and the softness of fine cashmere.

Whatever you choose to do with Kakishibu Cotton will delight both hands and eyes. Pure pleasure, this one is.
